Support the capacity of the Guam Office of Minority Health (GOMH) to develop training materials and curricula on the enhanced National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care (CLAS Standards) to enable GOMH to conduct related cultural competency training sessions for the government of Guam employees in 2014.
Disaggregate AAPI data on employment and/or programs by Asian and NHPI subgroups for three mission areas (e.g, Rural Development, Farm Service Agency, and NRCS).
Given low frequency of service delivery to LEP individuals, periodically reassess to ensure availability of services as needed
Employ a long-term energy strategy to reduce reliance on imported oil by maximizing use of renewable energy sources, increasing the efficiency of energy production and transmission, and by promoting consumer conservation by conducting Renewable and Energy Efficiency Meeting with the Freely Associated States (FAS) Leaders.
Develop protocols within offices of public affairs or external communications to translate (or develop other media - video, webinars, radio announcements - for) public service announcements, press releases, and other information into AAPI languages, develop a list of AAPI ethnic media outlets for distribution, and develop plans for community feedback and engagement.
Hold management accountable for enforcing anti-discrimination laws.
Promote diversity and inclusion of AAPIs in DHS-wide leadership development programs by aligning diversity and inclusion strategies to advance workforce diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunity in all levels of federal employment.
Activity 1) Evaluate existing EPA AAPI outreach strategies and outreach efforts.
Activity 2) Ongoing grant process overview training for applicants to increase quantity and quality of grant applications.
Partner with AAGEN's SES Development Program to bolster qualified SES applicants.
Expand workforce diversity outreach to key AAPI organizations and affinity groups by developing targeted strategies to build more diverse applicant pools, including outreach to AAPI/NHPIs for key DHS-wide professional development programs.
Develop a Limited English Proficiency GIS tool using Geo Platform to assist in identifying areas with people of LEP including AAPI languages.
Partner with WHIAAPI to conduct at least one technical assistance event on ECA grant opportunities to AAPI/AANAPISI organizations and partners in FY 2016-2017.
